Advanced Methodology in Statistics for Analysis and Evaluation
The importance of statistical methods is well accepted for analyzing and evaluating the results of experiments or research. However, there are few researchers who may master how to apply the appropriate statistical methods without difficulty. In this course, students at first review the basic methods of how to tabulate the data and test the results. The proceeding contents of lectures and practices performed alternately are as follows: analyses of variances in experiments, multi-comparison methods, multi-variant analyses for data with multi-dimensional structures and life table methods frequently applied to EBM (Evidence-Based Medicine).
Principles and Applications of Epidemiology
Epidemiology is a tool for preventive medicine. It deals with problem solving not only in clinical medicine, but also in health and welfare. After reviewing the basic principles of epidemiology, students will focus on their application in the course. This course will especially introduce students to systematic methods of problem solving by making use of their own research themes.
